Tropical Island 5K – It’s Worth It

Whether you’re a runner, a walker, or just want to be one of the first people off your Disney Cruise Ship at Disney’s private island, the Castaway Cay 5K is for you.

If your Disney Cruise has a stop at the most perfect private island, Castaway Cay, there is a 5K run/walk that is the perfect way to start your day with exercise and exploring.

You’ll want to register on the ship before your Castaway Cay stop and they’ll give you details on where and when to meet the morning of your port of call. Even if you’re just an observer or cheerleader for another guest who is participating, you’ll want to be there for the early start.

Register early because spots ARE limited.

Expect humid weather, even though it’s early in the morning. Hydrate and get plenty of rest the night before.

There is no additional fee to participate AND you’ll receive an awesome medal at the end.

Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate.

Children can run/walk along with their parents or guardians.

Expect a little bit of a walk from the ship to the starting location.

On your 3.1 mile journey, you’ll see the observation tower, you’ll run the landing strip, and get some great beach views along Serenity Bay (the adult-only side of the island).

Just remember to pack your running shoes before your embark on your cruise!
