I like to start my day with coffee. That may be an understatement, maybe I NEED to start my day with coffee.
On a Disney Cruise, that’s not a hard thing to do because you can grab coffee up at the buffet and even at the drink stations that are up on deck.
However, if you’re used to having a coffeepot just down the hall from your bedroom at home then you’re in for a longer walk to the fresh hot caffeine…or are you??
Here’s the life-hack while you’re on a Disney Cruise. Order coffee from room service before you go to bed and it will still be hot when you wake up. No, seriously! When this was suggested to me 5 years ago I had my doubts. There’s no way that 8-9 hours after the coffee is delivered to my room that it’ll still be hot.
I put it to the test and Disney Cruise Line coffee passed the test with flying colors!
Each night during our cruise, I would call room service and order coffee for two. It’s the same amount of coffee in the carafe, but when it’s service for two you’ll get two cups and some extra creamer and sugar. In about 15-20 minutes, a wonderful tray is delivered to our room. I just make sure the top is securely on the carafe and let the waves lull me to sleep.
When you wake up, unscrew the top of the carafe and enjoy piping hot coffee before you ever set foot outside of your stateroom.
On our last cruise, I met a lady up on deck who was all kinds of upset on embarkation day because “can you believe they confiscated my coffeepot from my checked luggage?” Yes ma’am, I can. You can’t be bringing your own electric appliances on board…especially when it gets super hot. Safety first!
I gave her this tip and she rolled her eyes and kind of huffed and puffed at me. Then next beautiful morning, I ran into her again on deck as we both enjoyed the sunrise and she apologized for not believing me. She too was surprised that she had a carafe full of hot coffee when she woke up that morning.
