Go Coddiwomple

Coddiwomple. Yes, it is a word and it is my new favorite word. It means to travel purposefully towards a vague destination.  I think we used to call that “road trip.” Remember those times as a kid when you’d load up in the mini van- or station wagon if you were an 80s kid- and hit the open road.  Those were the times Moms were relaxed and Dads were confident. Memories were made.

There are only 18 summer vacations before your child “grows up.” Eighteen. Less than twenty summers to gather the family, create traditions, and stock the photo files for that graduation slide show.

It’s time!  Pack the car. Pick the vague destination. Go coddiwomple!

Mindy is a wife and mom to 3 kiddos that are growing up fast enough to make this post a little too real.  Reach out to Mindy at Mindy@onceuponavacation.com and get your next coddiwomple in the books.
