By far, my favorite time of year to visit Epcot is between mid-September and early November each year for the International Food & Wine Festival, and this year, my wife and I spent 4 days in October sampling our way through 25 countries, called Global Marketplaces. Each of them have a sampling of their native foods, including many desserts, as well as wine and beer.
It definitely takes more than a one-day visit, but even if you’re only able to spend a day…go hungry and try as many small bites as you can. My favorites this year were Brazil’s Tilapia with coconut lime sauce and steamed rice, as well as New Zealand’s Lamb Meatball with spicy tomato chutney.
Plus the Odyssey Center, that big building on the left as you enter Epcot’s World Showcase, was transformed into the Craft Beer Marketplace. We did both Flight 1 and Flight 2, having a taste of 8 different unique craft beers. It was a lot of fun, but inside the building, it’s an odd, eclectic vibe. I would recommend grabbing your beverage of choice and heading outside to enjoy some Florida sun as you sample a Craftie!
Plus, there’s a full schedule of entertainment with the Eat To The Beat concert series each night. We were able to enjoy a concert by Smashmouth, but this year’s schedule was full, including Hanson, Sugar Ray, Richard Marx, Billy Ocean, Boyz II Men and so many more! You can even take cooking classes or go through a Culinary Boot Camp, however, we opted for sampling…and more sampling.
